Top:
Mother in March 1956, just a few months before she graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw, Michigan. She sent many photos of herself to her future husband, J.D., my dad, who was stationed in Germany in the Army. On the back of this snapshot she wrote, "I'm in the Army now."
First middle:

Mother in April 1957. You can really see how this suit has aged with its cleanings over the years. It looks so crisp and new on her here, but not on me 50 years later!
Bottom:
Here she is wearing this suit again in 1967, with Jeff on the left at age 6 and Scott on the right at age 4. She used to love to dress her boys alike. She's also wearing the killer navy blue patent-leather pumps that I actually wore out in later years!
